So you are between 15 and 20 years old, motivated to do something for the environment (understood as Nature, animals and people), enjoying the beauty of our world and ready for the experience of a lifetime? Great - enter www.mikehorn.com and give yourself a chance to fulfil your dreams!
Pangaea Young Explorers Program is a long-term, sustainable project created by Mike Horn - famous traveller and explorer. He planned a 4-year (2008-2012) journey around the world on the board of Pangaea, 35-metres exploration vessel made of recycled aluminium. During this cruise he will take the youth of today to 12 exceptional places threaten with destruction. Till now, 8 expeditions took place to, inter alia, Antarctica, New Zealand, Pakistan, Mongolia or Magnetic North Pole.
I'm taking part in the 9th Expedition of Pangaea Young Explorers Program, setting off to Nunavut on the 14th August 2011. But for me, the Program is not only a cycle of trips to inaccessible regions of the world - it has created a wonderful community of young people from all over the world, united by the same goal: preservation of Nature and its resources. That is where I belong completely. People being a part of this community became my best friends, they are my motivation and source of ideas.
In this blog, I want to report on the Expedition to Nunavut, but also my future environmental projects realised under the Program. Please follow, comment, get involved and spread the Pangaea message!
